Lys: Scotti

|
Aithne let the girl trail off. It sounded beautiful, the way she described it. And apples. Whether by some blessing of the One God or some oddity of her illness, apples did her good. If she could eat an apple in the morning, she would do better in the day. She wondered if living there, in the scent of an orchard-full, would heal her.

Her mind tracked back a bit. "You misunderstood me. Your word 'Scotti' is from our word for 'cut-off'. I call myself Scotti because that is what you know us as, but that is not the name of my clan.
I have been cut off from my people. So have you. That makes us Scotti."

She sizes the girl up a moment. "You seem strong for a Roman girl."

I'm running diagnostics on my computer- had a virus scare. I just have one or two more things to do, though.
