Jenny: Tied On

|
Standing and watching the girl recover with the dog prodding anxiously at her, the Guttersnipe's mind whirled. The fits came at odd times and infrequently, yet their shadow loomed longer and darker across their trail. She was rapidly coming to the realization that she held all the reins in her hands and she was not sure she could drive safely. Thank goodness there was Gwenhywfar: she was always one to look after Master Lucius.

With a sigh she squatted down by Domitia on the balls of her feet, forgetting how odd it looked with a skirt. "I'm afraid we're going to have to lash you to your mount after all," she said, patting the dog's head as she spoke. "I can't risk you falling off in the dark - or in daylight, either. We're going to be pushing as fast as Master Lucius can take it.

"If you're feeling better now - " She rose and thrust out a hand to help Domitia up. "We'll continue."
