Lys: An Unknown Companion

|
Aithne could not help the scream that came from her throat. Instinctively, she laid herself flat on Concordia's back and neck, pressing tightly and holding on for dear life. It was like being in the bottom of a fishing boat in the midst of an enormous gale. There seemed to be no up or down, just movement. She could not think of directing the horse, merely not falling off.

Eventually she began making sense of up and down, at least, though her grip did not loosen. She tried to be carried on the current, instead of being tossed in the waves, and for a moment she felt it- that spot that was what the Guttersnipe must feel constantly. But Concordia took a small jump and she was back in the surf.

Presently she was aware of another creature nearby. Some other person or animal was gallopping with them. She dared look 'round, and there, keeping pace with the horse, was a shaggy grey dog, looking up at her now and then with what could only be explained as concern.

Who are you?
