Cu ran beside them, bounding forward and doubling back. She laughed. "I think he's adopted me." As if in answer, Cu gave a yelping bark, then stopped and shook himself all over. Both Concordia and Aithne shied from the dog as mud and twigs went flying. "Ugh, he needs a bath." she said, smiling wryly.


They rode in quiet for awhile, then she asked, "How long is the journey?"
