The news was a shock. Aithne could tell the Guttersnipe had no idea of it. She watched the girl think things over, trying to find a way through the trouble.

But in the end she dismissed it as trouble, saying there was more to worry about.

Aithne was taken aback. Yes, it was true, Lady Gwenhwyfar could certainly take care of herself. But the idea of leaving her behind, in this situation, sat badly with her. She eyed the girl narrowly, but eventually nodded and stood. "Goodnight, then." She started to go, but soon stopped. "Wait, a cloak- you said Gwenhwyfar would have clothes for us. Are they packed?"
